Samuel "Sam" Broshious, 77, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 19, 2026. Sam was born in Toledo, Ohio, on February 7, 1949, to Charles and Juanita (Cyrus) Broshious. He graduated from Clay High School and proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, Sam married the love of his life, Cecilia (Duran), on August 25, 1984. He dedicated 34 years of hard work to the Chrysler Jeep Company before retiring in 2019.If you knew Sam, you knew he thrived on being surrounded by people. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Whether it was a quick chat in passing or a long conversation, Sam genuinely enjoyed connecting with others and made everyone feel welcome. Family was at the center of Sam's life. He was a constant presence at his children's school events and activities, always showing up with love and support. That devotion only grew when he became a grandfather. Sam absolutely adored his grandchildren and would do anything for them. He loved the energy and noise they brought, often asking, "When are the kids coming back?" and reminding everyone to "leave a light on for them."His faith was another cornerstone of his life. Sam was a devoted member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and took great pride in passing his faith on to his children.Sam also found joy in baking and was known for making sure no gathering ever went without dessert. If you needed a pie or cupcakes, Sam was always happy to provide. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, attending games each year with his oldest daughter.Sam was a selfless, loving man who brought warmth, conversation, and laughter wherever he went. He meant so much to so many and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cece, children, Sarah (Chuck) Broshious, Ashley (Chad) Hall, Joshua Broshious (Samantha Smith), Angela (Lance) Okey; 13 grandchildren; brothers, James and Charles (Chuck) and Broshious and sister, Betty Rose Knittles.
