Sandor Domozi, 82 years old of Walbridge, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on April 30, 1931 in Budapest, Hungary. He completed his education in Budapest at the Reformation Gimnazium (secondary school). He went on to serve two years in the Hungarian army before immigrating to the United States in 1957. Sandor married Veronica Losonczy in 1959 at St. Stephen'™s Church in Toledo. They were the best of companions being together for nearly 56 years. He initially worked as a baker at Menke Bakery. He then worked at AC Precision Tool before moving on to become a skilled machine repair journeyman at Doehler Jarvis before retiring in 1993. Not only was he proud to have become an American citizen, he was always proud of his Hungarian heritage and enjoyed being a longtime member of the Hungarian Club of Toledo. He was an excellent baker and his Hungarian fluffo pastries and his nut and poppy seed rolls were always a treat every holiday season.
He was preceded in his death by his beloved parents, Maria (Pesty) and Mihaly Domozi; three brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Veronica; his daughter, Margaret (David) Grabarczyk of Perrysburg; his granddaughters, Andrea (Keith) Franklin of Toledo and Jennifer Grabarczyk of Seattle, who will miss their 'œnagypapa' very much; along with three older sisters and a sister in law still living in Hungary.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home at 440 S. Coy Road in Oregon, Ohio from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March, 10, 2014. Interment will be at the Lake Township Cemetery where a private graveside service will be held for family members only on Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
