Sandy passed away quietly after a short battle with cancer, on Saturday November 6, 2021 comforted by her family. She was born on November 27, 1943 to William and Marie Mills and attended Garfield Elementary and Waite High School, graduating in 1961.After graduation she worked at the former LaSalle's Department Store on Adams Street in Downtown Toledo. On June 1, 1962 Sandy gave birth to her first son, Jeffrey Scott. She loved to put him in his stroller and walk all over the East Side to see friends, family and especially to shop on Main St. Sandy married her high school sweetheart Paul F. Snider Jr. on December 26, 1964. He was in the Air Force and home on leave. He was stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany, a port city on the North Sea coast. Sandy and Jeff soon joined him She was able to visit The Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, and the Brandenburg Gate. This is also when she started collecting Hummel Figurines, blown glass, and the spoons. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and was able to acquire many albums only released in Europe. Paul and Sandy welcomed their second son, Kevin Paul, on February 24, 1966. Paul was soon reassigned to San Antonio, Texas. Then tragedy struck. Paul and Sandy's third son, Lonnie Paul, was delivered full term, but stillborn on June 6, 1968 Paul was soon after, honorably discharged from the Air Force and the family moved back to Toledo. Both Paul and Sandy found jobs at the newly opened Woodville Mall and soon after purchased their first home they would live in the rest of their lives. In the early seventies Jeff and Kevin joined the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Paul and Sandy also became involved, Sandy as a Den Mother and Paul Helping wherever he was needed. Sandy was a "Domestic Engineer", cooking, cleaning, handling the family's finances, and taking care of her two sons. (Three sons if you count Paul). She also learned to both knit and crochet and many relatives and friends have received afghans and baby outfits. In the late eighties, Sandy's new hobby lead to a part-time job at The French Knot in the Great Eastern Shopping Plaza. She also enjoyed going to casinos and playing bingo. Sandy's biggest joy of all was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to be around her family and was looking forward to the holidays, but she will still be there in spirit and in our hearts always Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey (Becky); Kevin (Christy); grandchildren, Jerricka (Tony) McCarthy, Patricia and Michael Snider; great grandchildren, Cohen, Landen, Amelia Jo, Jaden, Delaney; brothers, William (Beverly) Mills, Jim Mills; step sisters, Rose (Robert) Belville, Veronica Placko.. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Stephen Singlar; husband, Paul F. Snider; infant son, Lonnie Paul Snider; step brother, Stephen J. Singlar. Visitation will be held on Thursday and Friday from 2-8 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon where her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
