Santos Rodriguez, 85 of Oregon, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 30 2017 at Promedica Bay Park Hospital. Santos was born on November 1, 1932 in Guadalupe Co, Texas to Isidoro and Prudencina (Garcia) Rodriguez. He had worked for Conrail Railroad for 40 years as a carman and foreman. This world and we lost one of the greatest souls that walked among us. His kindness was endless, his strength was indescribable through out his whole life, his love for his family was pure and unconditional. He was everyone's guiding light of how to be husband, a father, a grandfather, a son, a brother, a uncle, a cousin, a great man. Santos was US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He did a lifetime of things throughout his life and still had more to do but it was time for him to go into his next adventure and that was to always be that bright light for us to follow and him watching over us and never to far from our hearts. Santos had a passion for music and dancing which he shared with his wife, Gloria. They also enjoyed traveling together.
Surviving are his loving wife, Gloria; children, Nilda Ann, Richard, Michael (Lisa) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Nicole, Trisston, Asilia; brother, Joseph Rodriguez. Santos was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Alanna; siblings, Antonio, Mary and Socorro.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Epiphany of Our Lord St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 729 White Street, Toledo on Monday at 11:00 am where the family will greet friends beginning at 10 am. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Knights of Columbus. Life without him will never be the same, but our lives are forever changed and are better because of our Dad our Poppy and to his love of his life Gloria.
