Sara embraced eternal rest on February 4, 2015 at the age of 93, while surrounded by her family. The middle of three children, Sara grew up during the Depression but had an appreciation of the blessings of a loving family. Sara graduated from Waite High School and married as WWII ended. She is the mother of two daughters, Nancy Linkey and Linda Jackson. Once both daughters were older, Sara joined the work force as an office worker filling a variety of clerical positions for 48 years until retirement. Once retired Sara was active in her church, tutored elementary students in reading, was a member of the East Toledo Family Center, line dancing, and Hungarian Embroidery Club.
Surviving Sara are her two daughters, Nancy Jo (Lewis) Linkey, Linda Lee Jackson; grandson Michael Scott; and great-grandson Aiden Scott.
Graveside services will be held in the Mausoleum at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions in Sara's name may be directed to Memorial United Church of Christ. The family would like to thank Parkcliffe Community, as well as the nurses and staff at UTMC for the loving care they provided to their mother. Eggleston-Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family.
