Sara L. Parsons, 72 of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Sara was born in Cygnet, Ohio on July 12, 1940 to Fred and Relief (Roberts) Epke. Sara earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan. On July 6, 1963, she married Rex Parsons. Sara was employed as a chemist with Dow Chemical, Sherwin Williams, and Brush Wellman. For many years, Sara enjoyed raising golden retriever Leader Dogs. Sara was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. Her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren. Sara is survived by her husband of 49 years, Rex; children, Robert (Anne) Parsons and Cynthia (Brian) Arcari; grandchildren, Deanna (Micah) Pickett, Alexis and Lauren Arcari; great-grandchildren, Haiden and Isaiah Pickett; and brother, Donald Epke. Sara is also survived by many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bill and Paul Epke. Memorial services will be conducted Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 am in Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Road, Northwood, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am.
