Scott Carter Gladieux, 40, passed away September 16, 2005 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by family and friends.
Scott was employed by the Ypsilanti Public Schools teaching Industrial Arts, C.A.D., Basic Electricity and Drafting. He was also a Vocational Instructor at Whitmer H.S., Penta County Vocational, Toledo Technology Academy, Clay H. S. and Sylvania Southview H.S. He was previously employed at Toledo Edison.
Scott's many talents included designing, welding, fabricating, building, servicing and operating machinery and equipment. Scott had a love for "69" Cameros, skid loaders, camping and fishing with his sons, assisting his daughter's robotics team, snowmobiling and go-cart racing. He had a B. A. in Technical Education from BGSU and an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Automated Machining from Owens Community College. Scott was a member of First St. Mark's Lutheran Church and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Cedar Creek Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah; children, Shannon, Samson, and Stanley Gladieux; parents, Marvin F. and Elaine Gladieux; brother, Marvin L. (Karen); sister, Kathleen Gladieux; special friends, Debbie and Brittney Agee; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, LeRoy and Nellie Carter and Marvin L. and Ellen Gladieux.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Elliston Cemetery. Scott's family wishes to thank the medical staff at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL, Bay Park Community Hospital and Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to give memorials are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity of the donor's choice.
