Shawn Patrick Downs, 60, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at his home. Shawn was born April 2, 1965, to Walter and Jane (Baumgartner) Downs. Shawn was a graduate of Waite High School, majoring in English and auto body, and a graduate of Owens Technical College. He was a hardworking, valued employee at his job of 30+ years as a Machinist/Millwright at H. Hansen Industries.

Shawn is survived by his beloved children Amanda and Alexander Downs; mother Jane Downs; siblings Melony (Don) Hiles and Melissa Downs; honorary daughter Megan Plodzik and honorary granddaughter Amelia Uballe; along with many other dear friends and close family. Proceeded in death by his father Walter Downs and brother Raymond Downs.

Shawn had the best sense of humor, which would always draw people around him. He had great artistic ability. He knew how to sew and crochet. He was adventurous. He would go camping up north and ride dirt bikes. He loved music. He had been to 20+ concerts. He played the guitar and was usually the first person on the dance floor. He was a protector. But most of all he was a lover, and he loved with his whole heart.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S Coy Road Friday, June 27, 2025 from 2:00 pm- 7:00 pm with sharing of memories at 5:00 pm.

The family will hold a Memorial Mass at Epiphany of the Lord Parish - St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 729 White Street, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am with a luncheon immediately following. All are welcome to attend.

Private interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
