Sherman DuHamel, 73 of Walbridge, OH, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 15, 2004, in Harborside of Perrysburg. Sherm was born on January 9, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio to Henry and Lillian DuHamel. He was both a US Army and Marine Corp veteran. Mr. DuHamel was employed at the Prestolite Corporation for over 15 years, where he worked as a credit manager until his retirement. Sherm also served as a funeral home assistant for many of the area funeral homes for the past 10 years.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Enus; daughters, Deneise Sosko, Penny Lynn (Mike) Massey, Michelle (Antonio) Herrera, Lisa (Bruce) Thompson, Annita (Conrad) Jankowski; sons, Doug and Rick DuHamel; stepsons, David and Daniel Enus; sisters, Rita Davis and Alvena Benson; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years, Joanne "Penny" DuHamel; brother, Henry, and half brother, Jessie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Luke's Hospital and everyone at Harborside for the loving care they gave Sherm.
