Shirley Jean (Goodeman) Businger, age 84 of Walbridge, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 23, 2016 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Shirley was born to Irving and Mildred (Bellamy) Goodeman in Toledo, Ohio on April 20, 1932. She graduated from Waite High School in 1950. Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Bob, on May 2, 1953. She worked in the office at Willys Overland, was a secretary at United Brethren Church, Walbridge, Grace Evangelical Church, Oregon, and also worked for Avon and Amway. Her most fulfilling job was raising her family. Shirley cherished the many years of family vacations to the lake, but most of all, dancing with her husband, which began in high school and continued throughout her journey with Alzheimer's. Shirley will be remembered most by her contagious laugh and her delicious meals. Surviving is her loving husband of 63 years, Bob; children, Dan (Cherrie) Businger, Tom Businger, and Julie (Stacey) Malcolm; grandchildren, Robyn (Nate) Schober, Beth (Tony) Meadows, Brooke (Brad) Marzec, Leeann Businger, Ryan Businger, Alysa Malcolm, Olivia Malcolm; great-grandchildren, Trey, Cayden and Ava Schober, Alayna Meadows and Madilyn, Lillian, and Noah Marzec. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Lewandowski; and great-granddaughter Keira Ann Meadows. Family and friends may visit at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
