SHIRLEY M. HALKA Shirley M. Halka, 86, of Curtice, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2003 in Bay Park Community Hospital. Shirley was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on December 31, 1916 to John and Lucinda (Case) Powers. In 1938, she married John Halka who preceded her in death on March 2, 2003. Shirley was a member of Bono Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Woodbine Lodge #61. Shirley is survived by her children, John (Mary Jo) Halka IV, Donald (Patricia) Halka; 5 grandchildren; 5 step- grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Urbanyi, Joyce (Joe) Halka, and Rebecca Maszk, Thelma (Clovis) Hefner, Katie Kigar and brother, John Powers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers, Jess and Billy and sister, Rachel. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Friday from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to the time of her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
