Shirley Parker, 82, passed away on August 17, 2011 at her home. She was born on December 12, 1928 to Dewey and Gertrude (Kellum) VanWormer. Upon Dewey'™s passing when Shirley was an infant, she was raised by her mother and step-father, Virgil Butler. She was employed as a Customer Service Rep by Vlasic Pickles, Valley Farm Foods and Gordon Food Service before retiring in 1993. Shirley was known for her gourmet cooking and her sewing. She was a member of St. Paul'™s Episcopal Church. Shirley is survived by her husband, Edward; children, Tony (Jody Sherry) Parker, Joy Ellen Parker; grandchildren, Abbey Rose, Kelly (Michael) Hirsh, John Rose, Ashley (Derek) Stout, Erika Parker; great-grandchild, Riley Stout. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Janice Lee and Wilson Rose; great-granddaughter, Emma Stout. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Toledo Memorial Park.
