Shirley Schumaker, 78, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Orchard Villa. She was born in Toledo, OH on June 7, 1929 to Grandville and Gladys (Weisner) Susor. Shirley had been employed as a secretary at Eisenhower Junior High School for 25 years, retiring in 1984. After retiring, Shirley and her husband moved to Bradenton, FL where they lived for 18 years before moving back to Oregon in 2002. In Bradenton, Shirley was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Elkettes. She was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church, and the Flamettes of the Oregon Fire Department. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, reading, spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Surviving are her husband, Norman; children, Richard (Charlene) Schumaker, Sandra (Gary) Perlinski, Dr. Jonathon (Beverly) Schumaker and Janis (Jeff) Gray; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Beverly Schnee.  Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at First St. Johns Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. and where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will take place in First St. John Cemetery.  Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Shirleys name are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Johns Cemetery Fund.
