Sofia DeLaPeña, 70, of Oregon, Ohio, died peacefully, Thursday, February 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Sofia was born September 26, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio to Francisco and Ofilia (Vasquez) DeLaPeña. In 1972, Sofia graduated from Clay High School. Sofia found great joy in maintaining her home, always keeping an eye out for her next project. She enjoyed watching Survivor with her grandchildren, cookouts with her siblings, along with listening and dancing to her favorite Mexican music.

Sofia is survived by her son, Michael Alvarado; grandchildren, Victoria, Jordan, Diego, Estrella, Marina, and Francisco; siblings, Alfonso DeLaPeña, Adela (John) Flores and Linda DeLaPeña; along with dear family friend, Santa. Preceded in death by her parents and son, Alex.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services 11:00 am Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church, 325 S. Toussaint Portage Road, Oak Harbor, where the family will greet friends at 10:30 am. Interment: Restlawn Memorial Park
