Sofie Laubenz, 84, of Oregon, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in her residence.  Sofie was born in Pewamo, Michigan on October 11, 1921 to John and Mary (Duda) Ocheske.  Sofie was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.   Surviving are her daughter, Paula Cowens; sister, Betty Steinwedel; grandchildren, Vickie (Rex) Maze, Michelle (James) Smith, Charles Cowens; 10 great grandchildren.  Sofie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C., her parents, grandson, Raymond Schreiber, 3 sisters and 5 brothers..   There will be no visitation and services were private.   Arrangements are being handled by the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home.
