Stanley E. Monhollen, 72, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital with his loving wife and daughters by his side. Stan was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on June 12, 1948 to Elbert L. Sr. and Nina Mae (Rains) Monhollen. He came to Toledo with his uncles to find work and met his true love. He married Georgiann Dehabey Monhollen on February 16, 1969 in Williamsburg, Kentucky but they made their home and raised their family in Toledo and Oregon. Stan never lost his yearning for those Kentucky mountains and his beloved family. He visited often to make sure his parents and siblings had everything they needed and that his daughters would know that love of his dear family in Kentucky.
Stan retired from Chrysler Jeep Corporation in 2002 after 30 years of service, the last being an appointment to the PQI Division. He was a proud member of the UAW and served as a Union Steward for many years. Stan was a longtime member of the Executive Board of the Jeep Country Federal Credit Union, later sitting for several years as their President. In everything, he served with honor, respect, integrity and fairness.
Very strong in the faith, Stan was a 48-year member of the Echo Meadows Church of Christ, where he served in many capacities to all ages, from nursery school to senior citizens, including bus driver, maintenance man, teacher, deacon and Elder. No one more kind, loving or caring. He truly had the love of a servant.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Georgiann; daughters, Sara and Victoria Monhollen; granddaughters Izabelle "Izzy" Clyce and Skylar Georgiann C. Tuite, AKA Papa's girls; brothers, Michel (Geneva) and Riley (Imogene) Monhollen of Williamsburg, KY, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elbert Jr., Kathleen, and Berthie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 30, at 11:00 am at Echo Meadows Church of Christ, 2905 Starr Avenue, Oregon, Ohio where the family will greet friends one hour prior.
