Stephen M. Csengeri, 79, of Toledo, passed away June 28, 2003 at Orchard Villa Nursing Home. He was born on April 27, 1924 in Toledo to Michael and Rose (Zigray) Csengeri. Steve served during WWII in the US Army and was retired from LOF, East Broadway plant 8, where he was an oiler. He was a longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Steve enjoyed his family and Notre Dame Football. He had season tickets and attended all home Notre Dame football games for 50 straight years. In his earlier years he was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball. He leaves behind son, Gary (Joyce); daughter, Barbara (Joe) Marazon; granddaughters who he was very proud of, Gina Csengeri, Karey Donley, Amy Csengeri, Erin Donley, Sarah , Rachel and Hannah Marazon; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Bailey, Connor and Larissa; best friend from grade school, Frank (Fritz) Lesinszski and sister, Helen Csengeri. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Mike and sisters, Anna Csengeri and Mary Curry. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2003 from 6 until 9 PM and Tuesday from 2 until 9 PM where the Rosary will be recited at 4 PM in the Kinsey Funeral Home, Birmingham Chapel, 2001 Consaul St. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:45 AM and proceed to St. Stephen Church for 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family requests contributions, in Steve's memory, be made to Sacred Heart or Cardinal Stritch School Funds.
