Stephen "Steve" Andrew Nizio, age 77, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

He was born on September 17, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to Joseph and Elma "Sue" (Moilanen) Nizio. Stephen dedicated over 40 years of his life working for CSX Railroad before enjoying his well-earned retirement in 2008.

Steve was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time fishing, cheering on Michigan Wolverines football, and trying his luck at the casino, especially playing keno. He also enjoyed relaxing with a cold Bud Light and his pipe.

Above all else, Steve deeply cherished his family. He loved being surrounded by them, sharing stories, laughter, and creating lasting memories together. His presence, warmth, and love will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Kim; children, Aimee Watson, Sheree (Sean) Harris, and Stephen (Flora) Nizio; grandchildren, Jack, Emily (Micah), Aidan, Brandon, Devon, and Chase; and great-granddaughter, Eden; mother-in-law, Ann King; sister-in-law, Robin King; brothers-in-law, Craig, Greg, Tom, Brent, and Tim King; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Norma and Melania.

In accordance with Steve's wishes, no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
