Stephen M. Toth, 84, of Maumee, Ohio passed away surrounded by loved ones after an unrelenting battle with large cell lymphoma. Stephen was born on September 2, 1939 to Andrew and Edith (Neal) Toth in Toledo, Ohio.

He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and continued his education at the University of Toledo. Steve retired from the Toledo Police Department as a Lieutenant after 30 years of service. He first started his career with "Walking the Beat" in downtown Toledo and advancing to the detective bureau and then on to the Gang Task Force. Steve was an avid golfer who golfed in two leagues a week up until last summer. He played the bass in the band called "The Night Hawks" for over 30 years, entertaining wedding and event guests and enjoyed playing for church services for many years at Regina Coeli Church. Steve always enjoyed the lake life with family including fishing, campfires, boating, and making Hungarian turkey. He was a member of the Elks in Maumee. Steve's most memorable quote was "I remember the day I was born, I cried like a baby". Above all, family always came first.

Left to forever cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years, Sharon Toth; children, Dawn Tatro, Chrissy Judd, Lori (Don) Nash, Jeff (Tammie) Toth; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Andrew (Marie) Toth and Bill (Beverly) Toth; and sister-in-law, Marlene (Dennis) Zurawski.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; infant granddaughter, Shannon; and sister, Theresa Clark.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. until Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Steve's memory are asking to consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
