Steve J. 'œHockey Puck' Gall, 89, passed away on August 28, 2012 at Regency Hospital. He was born in Hungary on May 18, 1923 to John and Margaret (Juhasz) Gall. When Steve was 6 years old, his family moved to Canada and eventually, Steve moved to the United States. Steve worked at Chrysler and General Motors. He was a member of Calvin United Church of Christ where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Steve loved sports, especially hockey and lacrosse. He was a very talented player earning the nick-name 'œHockey Puck' for his skill.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Irene; children, Steve (Simone) Gall, Irene (Henry) Meech; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Iemma and Melanie Gall. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Julius Gall.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Calvin United Church of Christ, 1946 Bakewell St. in Toledo and where family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in North Oregon Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Steve'™s name are asked to consider Calvin United Church.
