Sue Dickens, 66, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on July 15, 2015 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 23, 1949 to Elmer and Carol (Grodi) Edwards. Sue was the Onsite Nutrition Manager for the James "Wes" Hancock Oregon Senior Center and a member of Harborview Missionary Baptist Church. Sue was a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She loved being around her "babies" as she would call all of her Children and Grandchildren and the love of her life Earnie. Earnie and Sue were married in 1967 and shared almost 48 years of marriage. Sue or Susie as she was known as at the James Hancock Oregon Senior Center, loved playing bingo with her special friend, Louise Whitney and going to breakfast and shopping on Saturday with her other special friend Paula Benton. Susie will be dearly missed and was loved by all who knew her. Also a special thank you from the family to the ICU at St. Vincent's Hospital and her special nurses, Nick, Julie, Amy, Jen and Heather, thank you for the loving care you gave to our "Sue", we are forever grateful.
Sue is survived by her husband, Earnie; sons, Earnie Jr. (Lisa), Steven (Lisa), and Timothy (Laurie); Mother and Father-in-law, Clinton and Margaret Dickens; grandchildren, Andrew, Reece, Alyssa, Emily, Aaron, Aiden and Ashton; siblings, David Grodi, Randy Grodi, Gloria Hill, and Teresa Besgrove. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Monday in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
