Terry Edward Smoot aka "Daddy Dawg", "Papa Doc", "Bird", 59, of Toledo and Oregon, passed away Friday, December 11th, 2009. Terry was born in Logan, West Virginia, October 3, 1950, to Ruby and Charles Smoot. He was one of 13 brothers and sisters. He was a graduate of Clay High School and was a Golden Gloves Boxing award winner. He was a graduate of Owens College with an associates degree in marketing. Following college, Terry joined the US Army serving in Vietnam. In 1976, he was hired by Jeep where he was employed for 30 years and retired. Terry was married for 12 years to Shelly and had four children, Mike, Josh, Kim, Tiff. Terry was a proud grandfather of Sierra, Tyler, Kaylia, Kimmy, Felecia, Halie, Jada, and Dominic. Also survived by mother, Ruby and father, Charles; siblings, Mark, Dave, Chuck, Kenny, Connie, Glenna, Marcy, Tammy and Joyce and best friend, Harry. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly in 2006 and sister, Christine, Patti, and brother, Rick. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 18th, at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 2:00pm.
