Theda B. Hessick, 90, of Oregon, OH passed away May 4, 2007 in her home, where she was lovingly cared for by her granddaughter, Cheryl Dunbar. She was born in W. Virginia to Lloyd and Annie (Akins) Bailey on November 12, 1916. Theda was the widow of Marion A. Smith, who was killed in World War II. She later married Neil Hessick, who passed away in 1987. Theda enjoyed spending time with Neil in their Florida home. During her life she was a caregiver to her mother and daughter-in-law.
Surviving are her son, James Smith, Westland, MI; daughter, Marilyn (Donald) Pennington; brother, James A. Bailey; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Theda was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 St. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with interment following in Williston Cemetery.
