Thelma Dillon, 82, of Toledo, OH, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born in Toledo on February 15, 1923, to William and Emma (Ritcher) Eyre. Thelma was the widow of John. Mrs. Dillon was employed with Major Laundry retiring in 1988 and also worked for St. Luke's Hospital in the laundry department. Thelma attended services at New Harvest Christian Church in Oregon. She liked to go camping and also enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are her daughters, Shirley (Ed) Fry of Florida, Katherine Carter, Beverly (Richard) Meeker, Thelma Hernandez, Jeannette (William) Twining; sons, John, Tom (Ann) of Genoa, Jim (Marie) and Dennis (Sharon); brothers, John (Marilyn) and Alvin (Carol) Eyre; sisters, Betty Startzman and Evelyn (Jack) Bribenbauch; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and her faithful companion, pet dog Bud. Thelma also was preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel; brothers, William and Sam Eyre; sisters, Catherine Hoot and Winnifred Eyre, and son-in-law, Matthew Hernandez.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2005 in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Thelma's name may be sent to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or New Harvest Christian Church.
