Thelma P. Layman, 71, of Perrysburg, passed away August 5, 2005 at her home. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 4, 1933 to Charles and Frances (Jarvis) Peart. Thelma was a member of the American Legion Post #646 Ladies Auxillary in Holland, Ohio. In her spare time she collected many different items. Thelma also was a wonderful baker who enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and sharing her accomplishments with family and friends. She loved people and will be dearly missed by all.
Surviving are her children, Lyda (Lynn) Lapham, Lenora Isabelle (Tim) Conley, Gina and Dan Heck, Howard "Marty" Martens, Jr.; sisters, Lois (Lemuel) McDaniel, Frances (Don) Grodi, Ruthie (Fred) Warner; brother, Charles (Gloria) Peart; grandchildren, BobbieJean, Moritz Damon, Jamie, Jeremy, Joshua and Paige; 9 great-grandchildren and brother-in-law Omer Good. Also surviving are several aunts, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, sister, Bettie Good and former husband and love of her life Howard Martens, Sr.
Visitation and services will be private. The family suggests contributions in Thelma's memory be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements by the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home.
