Thelma M. Duerk McCormack, 99, of Oregon, OH passed away Thursday morning, October 5, 2006 in Orchard Villa Nursing Home in Oregon, OH. She was born in Toledo, OH on March 2, 1907 to Benjamin and Melvina (Gauthier) Jennings. Thelma was the widow of Leon McCormack, who was the love of her life. Together they traveled the world. Their residences included Taipei, Taiwan, Pau, France, Bangkok, Thailand, Lexington, KY and Clearwater, FL before retiring in Oregon, OH.
She is survived by her children, Joan (Lawrence Dutch) Swartz, Jerry (Dolores) Duerk; step-children, Sharen (John) Bryan, Thomas (Pat) McCormack, Leon Jr. (Lois) McCormack; grandchildren, Steven Swartz, Karen Swartz, Beth O' Shea, David Swartz, Lynn Shidler, Tom Duerk, Sue Brooks, Jeff Duerk, Scott Duerk, and Kristin Dittelberger; step-children, Keith Bryan, Kathy Greisiger, Karen Beamish, Kevin McCormack and Kelly McCormack. In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her sister, Marie (Giles) Robb, Ivy Burt (Reeve), Swanton, OH and brother, Royal Jennings.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Friday from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:309 a.m. and proceed to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Thelma's memory can be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
