Obituary

A wonderful husband, a terrific father, a caring and loving brother and a true friend to many. He has traveled his last miles on his way to heaven. Thomas Bertsch Sr. passed away on January 5, 2005, from a short battle with bladder cancer. Tom was born on December 14, 1948, in Mansfield, Ohio. Preceded in death by his mother, Beaulah (Greene) Bertsch and father, Eugene Bertsch. Tom is survived by his brother, Terry (Miriam) Bertsch of Washington; sister, Rebecca Bertsch of Nevada; wife, Kerry (McDougle) Bertsch; sons, Thomas Jr. (Shelley), Michael (Katie), James Bertsch; daughter, Amber Bertsch; stepson, Justin Guerrero and stepdaughter, Jessica Guerrero; grandsons, Kyle, Tyler, Nicholas and Christopher Bertsch, Anthony Gardener and granddaughter, Skylar Kyser. And his canine soulmate of many years, Dakota. Tom loved to make people laugh and he amazed us all with smiles and laughter all the way to the end. We will miss his smiles, his laughter, his love, and his hilarious sense of humor forever. People who loved him will always have memories of his jokes, his pranks, and his good hearted teasing. Tom was an employee at Conway Central Express for the past ten years. He was a dedicated truck driver who loved his job. He took great pride in the company and people he worked for. They were family. Tom loved boating, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and most of all, making people laugh. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, January 9, 2005, from 2-9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m.-12:45 p.m. a the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 12:45 p.m. and proceed to St. Paul's Espiscopal Church, Oregon, OH, for a 1:00 p.m. service. Expressions of sympathy in Thomas' memory can be made to the American Red Cross Tsunami Survivors Fund. Visitation: Visitation Times Sunday, 2-9 & Monday 9am-12:45pm Coy Road Chapel
