Obituary

Thomas D. Cantley 76, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Monday January 3, 2011 at Hospice of Toledo. He was born in Edwight, West Virginia on August 21, 1934 to Pete and Ida (Massey) Cantley. Tom retired as a Qualified Inspector for GM Powertrain in 1999 after 40 years and 9 months. Tom was a member of the Damascus/Collingwood Lodge No. 643 F & A.M since April 3, 1972. Tom was also a member of the Arrow Club of North Toledo. His true passion was playing his guitar and singing all over the Toledo area. Throughout his life he enjoyed entertaining others and putting a smile on their faces as he played his country and bluegrass music. Surviving is his loving wife of 42 years, Connie Cantley, children Lyle Cantley, Toledo, Ohio, Kathy (Jim) Williamson, Dallas, Texas, Barry (Lisa) Miller, Alabama, Angela (Jerome) Hutchinson, Alabama; 3 grandchildren; brother, George Cantley, West Virginia; nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe Cantley, Pete Cantley and Jimmy Cantley; sister Daisy Cantley and sister in law, Betty Cantley. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Friday, January 7, 2011 from 2-9 p.m. with Masonic services at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday January 8, 2011 at 11:00 with interment to follow at North Oregon Cemetery.
