Thomas J."Papa" Casey Thomas J. "Papa" Casey, passed away November 10, 2012 at Parcliff Community of Toledo surrounded by his loving daughters, Kath and Fran. Tom was born on June 24, 1924 in Lima, Ohio to Michael and Kathryn (Sullivan) Casey. He graduated from St. Rose School in Lima, Ohio. Tom married Cecelia (Lynch) Casey in 1948 in Lima, Ohio. They were married 47 years until her death in 1995. Tom proudly served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 to 1946. He worked for Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, then Chesapeak and Ohio from 1941 until he retired in 1985. Tom also enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo and loved Blue Grass Music. He loved taking walks with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He could also be seen walking his dog Lucy up and down Starr Ave. in Oregon. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cecelia, brothers Bob, Dan, Gene, Bill, Dick and sisters Ester, Rose, Mary and Caddy. Tom is survived by his children, Kath (Tim) Menard, Fran (Jim) Tscherne, and John (Linda) Casey of Toledo, and Tim (Sheila) Casey of Tennessee; brothers Frank (Ruth) Casey of Wapakoneta, Tim, Mike (Kay) Casey; and sister-in-law Rita Casey. He has 9 grandchildren, Tim (Laura) Menard, Dave (Chris) Menard, Mandy (Ray) Westover, Sara (Tom) Lajti, Jaime (Jason) Csehi, Amy, Shelly, Brandi, and Sean Casey; great-grandchildren, Savanah, Tabitha, and Alexa Menard, Justin (Maureen) Pollauf, Brittany (Joe) Frank, Rylan Westover, Hannah, Katie, and TJ Lajti, Addison and Clark Csehi,2 great-grandsons on the way, and his first great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews from Lima. Tom will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He has donated his body to UTMC. Tom will be remembered at a Memorial Mass at Good Shephard Church, at 550 Clark Street, Toledo, Ohio on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00, where they will receive family and friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. The family would like to thank Parkcliff Community and Heartland Hospice for their loving care given to our Dad. We also would like to thank The Veterans for their care and support. Wear green for Papa, he loved being Irish!
