Thomas R. Hauck, 90, of Swan Pointe Care Center, Maumee and formerly of Walbridge, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 20, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He served in the Navy in World War II on the U.S.S. New Mexico from 1941 - 1946. Because of his war efforts, he received an honorary high school diploma from Central Catholic High School in 2002 at the age of 78. He was employed at Kaiser Jeep of Toledo as a stationary engineer until retiring on disability in 1978. Upon retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Mickey, in Ocala, FL. Tom loved singing by the bonfire. He also enjoyed long, leisurely trips up the Maumee River on his pontoon boat, "Ho He Ho" named after his grandchildren Holly, Heather and Hope. He always liked being the life of the party and enjoyed ballroom dancing to the 'œBig Band' hits.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Eve Baldwin and Brenda Hauck; stepchildren, Sandra Bruner-Hurst, Greg (Cathy) Kasch, Jim (Marsha) Kasch, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is his friend, Tina Carpenter; his sisters Florence Sheroian and Margaret Welcheck. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary (Mickey) Hauck; parents, Charles and Cora Hauck; sisters, Corrine Rahm, Mary Baumgartner and Eleanor Carr; brothers, Charles Hauck and Edward Hauck; grandchildren, Amy Houser, Andy Houser and Joey Baldwin.
Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
