Thomas E. Haynes, 81, of Millbury, OH, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at his home. Tom was born on December 18, 1921, in Wabash, IN to Homer and Lucile Haynes. Tom served his country in the US Marines during WWII. He was employed for many years at Lakefront Docks as a welder before retiring. Mr. Haynes many hobbies and interests include, obtaining a private pilot license, model trains, lapidary and an interest in military history in which he restored a military Jeep.
Surviving is his son, Thomas (Roberts) of Espanola, NM; brother, Larry (Velma) of Fremont, OH; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Melva Mary; sons, Gary; brothers, Jack and Ron and sisters, LaDonna Ule, Verla Ogle and Alice Smith.
Family and friends may call at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Woodville Rd. Millbury, Ohio on Sunday, December 14, 2003, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Tom's memory be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
