Thomas D. Heck, 78, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, in Regency Hospital. Mr. Heck was born in Carey, Ohio, to Vernon and Bernice (Helms) Heck on January 7, 1932. He was a US Marines veteran of the Korean War. Thomas was employed as a glass bender for 32 years at the Libbey Owens Ford Glass Company before his retirement in 1987. Tom was an avid lover of nature and the outdoors and when not watching his Ohio State Buckeyes he could be found in his spare time at Pearson Park. Surviving are his daughters, Sandra (Michael) Hauck, Bonnie Mariucci, Kerry Heck; companion of 22 years, Margaret Brimmer and her children, Douglas Brimmer, Cheryl Brimmer, Steven Brimmer and Kelly Smith; sisters, Donna Gallagher, Vicki Velliquette; brother, James Heck; 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley and son, Scott Heck. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 pm with interment following in Restlawn Memorial Park. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Pearson North Fund of the Toledo Metro Parks.
