Thomas V. Heinemann, 79, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, at his residence.
Tom was born on October 9, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio to Eugene and Hazel (Schultz) Heinemann. On June 11, 1954, he married Nella Jean Ratliff. Tom was a veteran of the US Marines, serving in the Korean War. He was employed with LOF in Rossford as a foreman for 38 years, retiring in 1990. He was baptized and joined Athens Missionary Baptist Church in February, 1977. In 1979, he began serving as church treasurer. He was a member of Dunberger American Legion Post and in later years, volunteered at Bay Park Community Hospital. Tom was a loyal donor to the American Red Cross, donating 79 gallons of blood and platelets.
Tom is survived by his children; Robert (Linda) Heinemann, Pamela (Dennis) Furlong, and Bill (Cari) Heinemann; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean, grandson, Eugene Heinemann, and brother, James Heinemann.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Monday from 2:00-8:00 pm Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday in Athens Missionary Baptist Church, Walbridge. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Athens Missionary Baptist Church or the American Red Cross.
