Thomas L. Hyatt, 78, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born January 17, 1945, in Hagerstown, Maryland to Milton and Lena (Raymer) Hyatt. His childhood and school years were in Massapequa, Long Island New York graduating in 1963. Tom earned a degree in engineering from the University of Toledo where he was a founding member of Sigma Tau Fraternity. In 1968, Tom began service with the United States Army in Vietnam, in a front-line combat role with the 11th Armored Core. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the American Legion. On September 2, 1972, in Toledo, Ohio, he married his soulmate, Deborah Rought. Tom retired as an engineer from Toledo Edison. In retirement, Tom and Deb enjoyed wintering in Florida close to family. They were members of Cedar Creek Church and enjoyed serving support functions and participating in bible studies. Tom treasured family gatherings, camping and vacations with his extended family, providing lifelong memories. Tom's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and spent countless hours making photo albums of his grandchildren's activities.

Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deb; daughter Chris (Dan); son, Mike (Melissa); grandchildren, Dakota, Megan (Dalton), Kayla, Brayden, Brandon, Ashton, and DJ (Maggie); great-grandchildren, Nate, Decker, and Melody; brother, Don (Diane); special nephew Steve (Lynn); special niece, Debbie (Mark); along with many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Friday, May 12, 2023, from 2;00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11:00 am in Cedar Creek Church , Oregon Campus, 3540 Seaman Road, where the family will greet friends at 10:00 am. Interment: North Oregon Cemetery.
