Thomas "Tommy" Jordan, 92, of Oregon, Ohio passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 26, 2017. He was born in Huntington, West Virginia on February 11, 1925 to Thomas and Frances (Cobb) Jordan. Tommy worked as an electrician for 43 years, working for CSX and was a member of the Local 8 IBEW. Although he retired in 1986, Tommy continued electrical work into his early 90's. He enjoyed playing cribbage, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Tommy was a member of the Old Farts Club, as well as an active member of the Men's Auxiliary, VFW Post 9963. Tommy modeled his life with his saying, "Help others and never turn anyone down." Tommy enjoyed volunteering for 27 years as a food distributor in Walbridge, Ohio. He was a selfless man who had a contagious smile that would light up a room. What Tommy cherished most was being with his family. He was an incredible man with a kind soul and will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Tommy is survived by his children, Connie (John) Marasco, Patti (Dennis) Brown, Butch (Gail) Jordan; grandchildren, Kristi (Steve) Inkrott, Scott (Hilario) Brown, Corie (J.R.) Agan,; great-grandchildren, Madison, Jordan, Shiloh, Dakota; and many nieces, nephews and loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 46 years, Betty; son, Tommy; brother, William; and sister, Rosemary.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Tommy's name may be directed to Ohio Living Hospice. "It's never goodbye, it's so long."
