Thomas E. Lorenz, 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 15, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Toledo, Ohio December 17, 1928 to Harry and Hilda (Froh) Lorenz. On August 18, 1956, he married the love of his life Margaret Williams. Tom worked as an accountant with Mid States Terminal for 26 years, retiring in 1987. An active member of the community, Tom was a 40 year member of the East Toledo Oregon Kiwanis Club where he served as president and secretary for many years. Tom volunteered countless hours in the admitting department and emergency room at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He was a dedicated member of Mainstreet Church where he served on the board of trustees. Tom will be remembered for his love and generosity towards others. Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Marge; daughter, Judy Bryant; daughter-in-law, Shelley Lorenz; grandchildren, Kelly Meis, John ( Diane) Meis, Christine (Jon) Quinlivan, Steve (Mystie) Meis, Scott ( Margie) Lorenz, Ashley (Ian) Bassett, and Marissa Lorenz; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Lorenz; brother, David Lorenz; and sisters, Miriam Morrison and Ruth Hartman. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Funeral services will; be conducted Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:00 pm in Mainstreet Church, 5465 Moline-Martin Rd Walbridge, where the family will greet friends beginning at 12:00 pm.
