Thomas M. Nestich, 90, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on June 2, 2017 at Hospice in Perrysburg. He was born in Blairsville, PA on March 15, 1927 to Thomas and Mary (Daubner) Nestich. Thomas was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a prison guard during the Nuremberg Trials. He worked at LOF as a glassworker for 30 years before retiring in 1982. Thomas was an avid bowler and golfer. He also enjoyed playing softball.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Charlotte (Bascuk); children, Nancy Sprouse and Thomas J. Nestich; special grandson, Jason Sprouse; siblings, Norma Sattler, Delores Sasala; Pat Gerding, Terry (Larry) Sedlak, Judy (Dick) Birt and Jackie (Ozzie) Lay; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Mary (Mamie) Vargo.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Wednesday, June 7 at Epiphany of the Lord – St. Stephens Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. His family would like to thank Lonnie, Ozzie, Judy and Dick for their support.
