Thomas E. Shiffler Sr., 76, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on April 22, 2015. He was born October 7, 1938 to Lester and Beatrice (Davis) Shiffler. Thomas was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and a lifetime member of Northwood VFW Post 2984. He was a maintenance area leader at Hunt Wesson Foods for 34 years before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. Surviving is his loving wife, Carolyn (MacKay) Shiffler; sons, Lester (Lori) Shiffler, Thomas (Janice) Shiffler Jr. and Richard (Deb) Keesee; daughter, Sunnie Keesee Fore; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank (Sandy) Shiffler; sister, Margaret Marvin; and special friends, Keith and Lisa and Joe and Pauline. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Charles Shiffler, Stella Davis, Ollie Payne and Edith Mapes; and daughters, Teresa Altaffer and Sheila Stone. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 South Coy Road Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, April 26 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, April 27 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
