Thomas W. Tipton, 84, of Toledo, OH passed away on Friday, October 10, 2003 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born on October 11, 1918 in Murray City, Ohio to Robert and Dessie (Loper) Tipton. Thomas was an Iron worker with Local #55 for 27 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following many of the Detroit teams. Thomas played fast and slow pitch softball for many teams and had several no-hitters as a pitcher. He was a master craftsman with wood and metals and a perfectionist in all that he did. Surviving are his wife, Lola M.; sons, Thomas L., Gerald W. (Jane) and Richard (Deanna) Tipton; sister, Geneva Ring; 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Robert; sisters, Glenna Belkofer and Eileen Lorenzen Friends may call in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road Oregon, Ohio on Sunday from 2 to 9 pm where funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Lake Township Cemetery.
