Thomas E. Walsh, 77, of Oregon, Ohio, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2002 in his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Walsh was born on June 19, 1925, to William and Helen (Cooper) Walsh. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. Thomas was employed as a longshoreman for 32 years at the Toledo Lakefront Docks before his retirement in 1988. Mr. Walsh was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Walbridge. Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Jo; children, Thomas J. Walsh, Mary Kate Ringer, Michael K. Walsh, Terrence (Holly) Walsh, Maureen (Roger) Ford, Timothy (Kim) Walsh, and Martin (Rachel) Walsh; sister, Sister Patricia Walsh and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joseph, William, John and sisters, Mary, Helen, Anna Lee and Marge. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Friday from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral services will begin with prayers in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 am and proceded to St. Jerome Church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions in Thomas memory be made to either St. Jerome Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
