Tony R. Ramirez, 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor, of Oregon, Ohio passed away May 10, 2012 in his home. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 20, 1933 to Francisco and Esperanza (Palimonas) Ramirez. Tony was a veteran of the U. S. AirForce. He was stationed in France from 1951-1955. Tony was employed at the Jeep Corp., retiring in 1998. He was a huge Pittsburg Steelers fan. Tony loved singing. His voice was exceptional and he was often referred to as an honorary member of the 'œRat Pack'. Gardening was his hobby, and he was well known for his delicious tomatoes. Tony was the perfect host and also a jokester. He spoke three languages fluently. Tony was especially fond of his little dogs, and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. His main enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, which he truly loved.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; children, Diane (Michael) Butler, Tony Ramirez Jr., Mark (Christine) Ramirez and Gina Ramirez; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Joanne (David) Rangel, Theresa (Bud) Holmes, Raymond Ramirez; Jimmy (Norma) Ramirez and Margie (Don) Zak. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Bradley Ramirez and Breanne Thompson; several brothers and a sister.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 1-9 p.m. with rosary services at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery.
