Obituary

Tony Tomase, age 79, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg on Saturday, June 4, 2011 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Tony was born in Toledo, Ohio to Nancy and William on June 30, 1931. He graduated from Waite High School and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country in the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge in 1954. Tony was employed at L.O.F. (Pilkington) for 30 years as a plumber and pipe-fitter retiring in 1989. He was a member and Past Commander of Arthur Daly Legion Post, member of V.F.W. Post 606, Rossford Eagles, G.A.F. Society, G.B.U. and the Toledo Swiss Men'™s Society. He always looked forward to spending time with the Friday night bunch at the G.A.F. Clubhouse. Tony was an avid golfer and served as Co-Chairman of the Swiss Men'™s Senior Golf League, and recalled his most memorable day of golf was May 5, 1999, when he shot a hole-in-one at Chapel Hill Golf Course in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The proud moment happened on hole #3, 167 yards with his 6 iron. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Patricia; sons Tony (Sofia), Dr. Timothy (Teri); daughters Cynthia Tomase, Ann Marie (Dr. Andrew) Milner of Cary, N.C.; grandchildren Stephanie (Shane), Jeffrey (Melissa), Daniel, Tony III and his mother Rhonda, Jordan, Jonathan, Matthew, Alexis, Samantha, Mackenzie and Victoria. Tony is also survived by sister Mary Ann (Robert) Black and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also left to cherish his memory are many friends, especially his best buddy Tom Hauenstein. He will be looking forward one day to meeting his friends once again when they join him in heaven at a place called 'œLuckies Barn & Grill.' He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph, sister Margaret, and his angels in heaven, sons William, Kenny Paul and great grandson Timothy (Tink). Visitation will be at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm with memorial services immediately following. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests expressions of sympathy to benefit Hospice of Northwest Ohio 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551 or St. Thomas Aquinas Church 729 White Street, Toledo, OH 43605 or the charity of the donor'™s choice. The Tomase family would like to thank friends and family members for their prayers, visits, cards, and phone calls.
