Vendela A. Combs, 84, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Monday, May 12, 2003 at St. Charles-Mercy Hospital. Vendela was born in Jerusalem Township on September 23, 1918 to Carl A. and Lydia S. (Anderson) Lind. She married John P. Combs who preceded her in death. Vendela had worked Donovan Steel Tube as a stock clerk and stenographer for 12 years retiring in 1977. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Church and it's Ladies Aid Group. Surviving are her loving children, Richard A. (Norine) Combs, Mary Lynn (Paul) Dunlap; grandchildren, Tammy Dunlap, Rick (Kara) Combs, Brent Combs, Dawn Dunlap, Justin Combs and great-grandchild, Myranda Kyra Combs; sister, Elna (Calvin) Damschroder. Also preceded in her in death is her brother, Eldon A. Lind. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-9 pm and on Wednesday from 2-9 pm at the Eggleston-MeinertFuneral Home, 440 S. Coy Road where her funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
