RODELA Victor M. Beloved son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather, Victor M. Rodela, 58, of Hanley Road, Genoa, OH, died this 21st day of July, 2007. Born in Toledo, OH on November 3, 1948, to Isabel (Romero) and Virgil C. Rodela. A 1967 graduate of Lake Local High School, he was an avid football player and wrestler. At the age of 15 he was the leader of the band named "The Twisters" in which he played the trumpet and competed and won a talent contest, then performed on live TV for "The Ted Mack Show". He went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War from September of 1967 to September of 1973. As a cryptanalyst in the RA/ASA branch of the Army he was stationed in Japan, assigned to the radio towers in the mountains of the region. A member of the Boilermakers Union of Toledo he was a welder and boilermaker for 34 years. Working at the shipyards in Toledo as well as Portland, OR where he resided for 18 years. He was currently employed with Transco. Surviving him are his mother, Isabel of Genoa; sister, Trinadad (Dave) Wilson of Bryan, OH; brothers, Robert, Wally (Lucy), Carlos (Linda) all of Toledo; sons, Victor of Boston MA, Joseph (Marla) of Toledo, Don Carlos (Keara), Kelly and Michael all of Portland, OR; daughter, Amelia Rodela also of Portland; grandchildren, Allora (Joseph) and Cordel (Don Carlos); one uncle and two aunts form the Romero family and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil C. Rodela. Services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. at Starr Ave. where visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Victor's memory may be made to the family.
