Violet B. Blakeley, 94, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Violet was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 7, 1919 to Phillip and Alice (Monday) Boose. She worked in the Oregon School System as a Matron for 15 years until her retirement in 1976. Violet was a longtime member of First St. Mark Lutheran Church. She was the president of the Ladies Aid before they became the Women of the Church, volunteered with cooking and sewing for service projects and ushered in church with her husband during funeral services. Surviving are her daughters, Bonnie Koester, Binnie (Daniel) Caswell, Peggie (Joe) Kuhl, Page (Michael) Michalski and Robin Hathaway; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Blakeley; son Bennie Paul Blakeley; grandson, Daniel Caswell; siblings; and son-in-law, David Hathaway. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio on Friday, January 31 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday February 1 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Willow Cemetery.
