Violet M. Driftmeyer, 100, went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Genoa Care Center. Violet was born in Jerusalem Township to William and Cora (Gillmore) Amsler on July 20, 1912. One of Violet'™s highlight in her life was being named head cashier of the year at Foodtown where she had worked. Violet was very proud to be the oldest member of St. Luke'™s Lutheran Church where she enjoyed working with the ladies of the church. In her spare time she enjoyed, reading, fishing, gardening, flowers. She was also blessed with many talents and her meals she prepared were enjoyed by many. Violet'™s greatest treasure was her grandchildren and her family.
Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Dale) Driftmeyer, Bonnie (Jerry) Lentz; sister-in-law, Leona Arnold; grandchildren, David and Amy Driftmeyer, Greg Lentz, Anne Kelly; great grandchildren, David Jr., Cora, Dustin Driftmeyer, Drew Kelly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin; sons, Lee and Paul; brothers, Ray, Lloyd, and Fred; sisters, Ella, Bessie, Bonnie and Ethel.
Funeral Services will be held in St. Luke'™s Lutheran Church, 20 S. Yondota Rd., Curtice, Ohio on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 11:00 a.m. and where the family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Violet'™s memory are asked to consider St. Luke'™s Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Home of Mercy, Williston, Ohio.
