Virgil L. Busdeker, 87, of Oregon, formerly of Walbridge, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Orchard Villa.
He was born in Luckey, Ohio on August 2, 1924 to Harmon and Minnie (Layman) Busdeker. Virgil was a US Army Veteran of WW II where he received two Purple Hearts. After returning from the war, he married Martha Palmer and she preceded him in death in 1992. He was employed with Libby Owens Ford in Rossford for 30 years, retiring in 1978. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his dogs.
He is survived by his brother, James along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha, brothers; Raymond, Willard, Donald, and Richard, and sisters: Dorothy Black and Lillian Dusing.
Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Wednesday, August 17 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am Thursday in the funeral home. Private Interment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio or a charity of the donor'™s choice.
