Virgil O. Mathile, 92, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on February 5, 2014 at Heartland of Oregon. He was born in Continental, Ohio on May 25, 1921 to Edward and Ada (Randolf) Mathile. Virgil was a US Navy Veteran who was a recipient of a Purple Heart while serving during WWII. He was a member of the D.A.V. Virgil enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughters; Peggy, Sue, Wanda, Tina, Cathleen, Diana; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Catherine; sons, Edward, William, John; brothers Robert, Gerald; and sisters, Mildred and Irene. Friends and family may visit Eggleston-Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
