Obituary

Virginia A. Gladieux, 88, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully at the Gardens of St. Francis on Friday, January 2, 2026. Virigina was born in Toledo Ohio to Harold and Clara (Stage) Robinson in October 17, 1937. She was a 1955 graduate of Waite High School. On September 28, 1957 she married the love of her life, Dale Gladieux. She had worked for Toledo Trust bank for a few years until she had her children. She was a member of the former East Christian Church, where she served many roles, including singing in the choir with her sister, Doris Huss and husband, Dale. She also was involved in many rummage sales and activities at East Christian church. Most recently she attended memorial United Church of Christ back in 2021. Virginia and Dale volunteered many hours serving at St. Louis Helping hands soup kitchen. She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and blueberry pies, along with her baking she was known for her mac n cheese, and crocheting hundreds of "scrubbies" which she sold to help the church and also gave away as gifts. Virginia is best known for her Santa collection, even featured in the Toledo Blade years ago.


Virginia (Robinson) Gladieux is survived by her daughter, Julie (Don) Wietrzykowski, son, David Gladieux; grandchildren, Jake, Nick, and Tony (Tasha); 6 great grandchildren; nephew's, Steve (Juanita) Huss, Rob (Rae) Huss and Ron Lerner. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, grandson and nephew.


Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Saturday, January 10, from 1:00 PM until the time of her service at 3:00 PM. Interment at Restlawn Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice.
