Obituary

Virginia B. "Ginny" (Liske) Keller, 89, of Oregon, OH passed away on Monday, June 27, 2005 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio inpatient unit in Perrysburg. Virginia was born in Toledo on April 11, 1916 to William and Malvina Sanks. Mrs. Keller had given her life to music . Her passion began at the piano at the age of 9 and led her to play virtually nonstop at regular church services, weddings, funerals and entertaining patrons at local supper clubs for nearly 70 years. "Ginny and the Men of Note" played for over 14 years at the Ritz Supper Club, Gulish Villa, and Rustic Lodge in Michigan. When not playing she was famous for her lemon pies and spaghetti sauce she prepared for many church dinners. She was a member of First St. Mark Lutheran Church, German American Festival Society, the Velvetone Choraliers and the Oregon Jerusalem Historical Society Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Carr of Florida; son, Wayne Liske of Toledo; sister, Helen Brower; grandchildren, Jill and Joel Liske; 3 great grandchildren and granddaughter, Denise Liske. Friends and family may visit from 2 until 9pm on Thursday in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Funeral services will be conducted Friday July 1, 2005 at 11:00 am in First St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1121 Grasser Street, Oregon. Interment will follow in N. Oregon Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ginny's name may be made to First St. Mark's Lutheran Church . An additional memorial service will be held at a later date.
